The Pregnancy Center at Catholic Charities:
Assisting with life decisions, before, during and beyond birth
The Pregnancy Center at Catholic Charities reaches beyond providing help to expectant mothers. The program’s objective is to provide a complete menu of services regarding life choices to all women and their families regardless of age, marital status, economic condition, or religion. Catholic Charities offers assistance to support them through their decision making process, pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
Before
Through age-specific educational curriculum, Catholic Charities works with individuals in a variety of approaches.
Abstinence - a curriculum for students and young adults to help build the skills needed for developing an abstinence lifestyle.
This includes lessons to assist young people in building self-esteem; increasing communication skills; improving decision making skills; and discovering a connection between their values, decisions, behavior and future. Individuals learn refusal skills and how to reject social pressures as well as an education in the use of non-sexual alternatives to meet their needs.
Prevention - a curriculum which stimulates conversation and increases awareness of adolescent pregnancy, responsibilities of parenting, and the value of postponing parenting until socially, emotionally, and financially able.
CM-BBT (Cervical Mucus - Basal Body Temperature) Families can be planned through a modern, natural method. When used correctly and consistently, CM-BBT is 97 percent effective. Medically based and scientifically researched this is becoming the natural method of choice. No harmful side effects, no drugs to buy and no devices to use. It is a safe and healthy option. CM-BBT promotes couple involvement, enhances communication and encourages mutual respect and responsibility. Not the rhythm method!
