Communities of Salt and Light Awards Dinner
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Greensburg hosted their recognition and fundraising dinner April 25. All proceeds from this event are redistributed to the most vulnerable and at-risk residents of the four county diocese by granting temporary emergency financial assistance with food, light, water, sewage and all heating sources.
The 2013 awards were held at Stratigos Banquet Centre, North Huntingdon. Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap., archbishop of Philadelphia, served as a special guest at the event, and was honored for outstanding leadership. John F. Kane of St. Margaret Mary Parish in Lower Burrell, was honored for humanitarianism, and Rocco Panucci of Our Lady of Grace Parish, Greensburg was honored for philanthropy.
