Elijah Endowment
In 2006, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Greensburg created the Elijah Endowment Fund to assist families and individuals in achieving and sustaining self-sufficiency through the programs and services of Catholic Charities.
The Elijah Endowment, named after Elijah the Tishbite from the Old Testament's First Book of Kings (17:1-16), reminds us that generocity to God never goes unrewarded. Even when it seems that being generous is impractical or ill advised, the faithful follower of Jesus Christ is challenged to step out in faith and trust that God will provide. An act of generosity now will allow this endowment to provide for the needs of those who often have given up hope of providing for themselves.
