Comprehensive Information and Referral
Comprehensive Information and Referral provides a central telephone entry point for persons seeking assistance in the four counties (Armstrong, Fayette, Indiana and Westmoreland) of the Greensburg diocese. Trained and certified information and referral specialists respond to clients' needs and connect them with possible assistance within the Catholic Charities system or through outside community agencies.
As part of this process, the information and referral specialists may link callers with various services and/or programs such as:
- Family shelter and housing
- Counseling
- Homeless prevention funds
- Child care
- Rental assistance and many more
The primary goal of the information and referral program is to provide emergency financial assistance, information and referral, as well as case management services to individuals or families unable to meet their immediate basic needs.
Case management services help individuals achieve self-sufficiency. This service may include a needs assessment, brief service consultation (budget counseling), referrals to counseling and health and family support services for individuals requiring assistance:
- Due to a crisis or an emergency, such as fire, flood, family violence, loss of income, etc.
- Because they have insufficient income to meet their basic needs.
If you are seeking assistance please call the 24-hour hotline (1-800-409-6455), locate a Catholic Charities office in your area or visit Catholic Charities USA.
