Education
Through age-specific education curriculum, Catholic Charities works with individuals in a variety of approaches.
1. Abstinence is a curriculum for students and young adults to help build the skills needed for developing an abstinence lifestyle. This includes lessons to:
a. Assist young people in building self-esteem.
b. Increase communication skills.
c. Improve decision making skills.
d. Discover a connection between their values, decisions, behavior and future.
2. Individuals learn refusal skills and how to reject social pressures as well as an education in the use of non-sexual alternatives to meet their needs.
3. Prevention is a curriculum which stimulates conversation and increases awareness of adolescent pregnancy, responsibilities of parenting, and the value of postponing parenting until socially, emotionally, and financially able.
